Payroll Specialist

Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees. Hours : Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm This position is in office only. Pay: $23-26 per hour depending on experience Responsibilities: Gather information on hours worked for each employee Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc. with the assistance of a computer system Receive approval from upper management for payments Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper Process taxes and payment of employee benefits Keep track of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information, etc. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors Prepare reports for upper management, finance department, etc. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and accuracy are highly valued. Requirements and skills: Proven experience as a payroll specialist for 2+ years Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations in the field Prior Experience with Multistate payroll Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software (Paylocity, Paycom, and ADP Workforce Now Must have experience working in Employee Navigator or a similar program Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail Excellent communication skills High school diploma or equivalent experience working in Payroll
