Responsibilities
• Engage patients throughout registration process for positive experience• Collect accurate patient demographic data• Obtain insurance information and verify eligibility• Collect patient financial liability• Refer patients to financial counseling if needed• Complete patient registration and financial clearance in emergency care setting• Enter required registration information into electronic health system• Review and correct demographic and insurance information• Ensure EMTALA compliant registration for emergency department patients• Obtain all necessary signatures and completed forms• Thoroughly document insurance verification and payment information• Provide information on patient rights and responsibilities• Manage patient visitor flow according to hospital policy and safety guidelines
Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent• 1 year customer service experience in healthcare or related setting• 6 months healthcare office experience• Medical Terminology• 1 year patient registration and/or revenue cycle experience
