Phoenix Physical Therapy has been focused on supporting our communities with local outpatient clinics for more than 20 years. We provide patients with physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training and massage therapy services in a welcoming environment. Our experienced clinicians are committed to delivering a great patient care experience from beginning to end. At Phoenix, we help our patients Recover, Recharge & Rise POSITION SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist will work in a variety of school and classroom settings to address the needs of students ranging in age from 5-21. The OT will work with students of all ability levels. The OT will be responsible for screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations, as well as maintaining accurate daily documentation and progress reporting. Interventions will be provided utilizing a school-based model, which focuses on maximizing the student's ability to participate in their educationally related tasks and activities. The Occupational Therapist will work as a member of the school team to help the student reach their educational goals in preparation for life after graduation. Key Responsibilities: Provide Occupational Therapy Services as indicated in a student's IEP or 504 Service Plan while maintaining a time efficient schedule. Ability to work independently daily Complete student screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations utilizing a variety of methods including standardized assessments. Work closely with and provide supervision to COTAs. Work as a member of the student's educational team that incudes the student's family, to meet the students educationally related needs in the least restrictive environment. Work with student's aged 5-21, without bias or prejudice related to race, creed, gender and disability. To understand the role of an Occupational Therapist as a member of the educational team while respecting the student's and family's role in guiding the vision of meaningful occupations for themselves/their child. To practice ethical responsibility based on the cultural, ethnic and religious beliefs of the students served and applicable law. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements: Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy with work experience as an OT for a minimum of one year, pediatric and/or school system experience preferred but not required. Must have, or be eligible for, State Licensure or Registration. Registration must be obtained within one year, or as per state law. CPR Certification Must be able to pass a criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance check. Must hold a valid PA Driver's License Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Detail oriented Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Compassion and patience Problem Solving Physical Requirements Varied activities including sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds. Must be able to use a variety of equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax and physical therapy equipment.
