The company has 27 operating mines and processing facilities and two additional exploration stage properties across the United States and is headquartered in Katy, Texas.The Mine Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all mining activities to meet or exceed mining production and ore control objectives while supervising crews at the site.Essential Job Functions:Direct supervision of the Mining crew and assigning daily tasksEnsure all mining personnel and contractors work in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, company policies, standards, and proceduresCoordinate the mine's resources - people, equipment, consumables, and facilities to meet production targetsEnsure timely and proper reporting to all regulatory agencies, including TDEC and MDEQComplete all forms necessary for new, renewal, or modification of mining permitsInteract with government agencies during site visits and inspectionsEnsure ore is being mined according to the mine plan and high standards for ore control are maintainedCoordinate with Corporate Mine Planning in the development of the site mine plan and exploration drilling strategiesConduct on-site drilling to evaluate ore for productionUpdate mine maps and pit progression in AutoCaD or similar software while utilizing drone flights and GPS technologyPerform routine inspection of all machinery, equipment, and the mine sitePerform daily pre-shift briefings including safety and production topicsMeet performance metrics and communicate data to both the mining crew and staff at daily meetingConduct workplace exams and safety compliance auditsMeet operating budget for Mining DepartmentEnsure accurate payroll entries and approval of timecardsManage crew scheduling to meet demandMaintain safe and productive condition on haul roads and in mine floor Enter fault reports into JDE and coordinate with Maintenance for timely repairs on mobile and fixed equipmentOther duties as assignedRequired Education, Experience, and Skills:Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar 5+ years in a mining environment5+ years of supervision experienceExperience around the operation of mobile equipmentExperience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar softwareExperience dealing with government agenciesU.S. Silica is an equal opportunity employer for all without regard to race, gender, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
