Job summary
McDowell Center for Children is seeking a dynamic and talented MENTAL HEALTH TECH.The Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for residents, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers residents, and teaches new tools for coping to residents.The Mental Health Aide provides direct resident care under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities
• Create a safe and therapeutic milieu for residents.• Provide crisis intervention.• Lead education groups and activities of daily living.• Provide direct resident care.• Work under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.• One-year experience working with a psychiatric resident population preferred.• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationship processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.• Completion and maintenance of competency training in CPR, HWC, and Verbal De-Escalation – aggression management, crisis intervention, and restraint training.• Must be 21 years of age.
