Responsibilities Storeroom Clerk Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Storeroom Clerk works in a team environment and is responsible for the receiving and accounting for all supplies and equipment shipped to the hospital.  Performs inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, stock level verification and receipt discrepancy validation.  Assists with UPS, FedEx and other shipping requirements. Functions as courier to deliver supplies and equipment to satellite ARMC offices;  performs other functions as required.
Duties: Responsible for the receiving and distribution function of all supplies and equipment shipped to the hospital. Necessary paperwork is processed to insure all quantities are correct and that all shortage and changes are noted.  All packages signed for are checked for damage.  Items (unit and amount) are verified correctly on packing slip.  Receivers are signed and dated in appropriate column.  Receiving information is accurately entered in the MMIS.  All delivered goods signed for by requester department upon receipt.  Receiving exception reports rectified within 24 hours.                Refers equipment to the Maintenance Department for assembly, if necessary, in a timely manner. Capital equipment received coordinated for delivery with Biomed, comptroller, IS (for computer equipment/paraphernalia) and the requester.                        Maintains orderly placement of supplies and existing inventories. Place in designated location on a first in, first out basis.  Assists in charge labeling and other storeroom duties as assigned.                         Responsible for sending items out of hospital for return or repair. Makes sure proper paperwork is completed with proper return authorization, if needed.  Contacts proper carrier for low cost shipping options.  (UPS, motor freight, or pick-up.)                 Contributes to the ongoing accuracy of the perpetual inventory by efficient utilization of Materials Management techniques in purchasing, receiving and distribution. Researches receipt discrepancy error reports and validate corrections. Stock control responsibilities includes learning and using MMIS systems to perform and document cycle counts, manage stock level control, validating storeroom replenishment orders with purchasing, pulling and delivery of orders, proper documentation and MMIS updates for stock returns, participating in storeroom improvement projects. Properly rotates stock and checks dated materials. Places new products behind existing products on the shelf.  Constantly checks dated materials to ensure outdated product is not kept on shelf.  Any materials that have an expiration date within three months will be placed on the front of shelf so it will be used next.  Any materials that have expired will be pulled from the shelf and the proper buyer notified for follow-up.              Maintains storeroom and dock areas keeping materials off the floor and materials in their proper location. Position Requirements: High school diploma or GED.                                    
Receiving experience/healthcare materials management experience preferred.                                        
Must have current driver's license and vehicle insurance.                                       
Knowledge of computer operations and ability to accurately enter information.  Must have good clerical, analytical, and communication skills.
