Summary: The Master Data Management Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and security of the organization's master data across various systems. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of data management principles and technologies, coupled with robust analytical abilities to oversee, assess, and address data-related issues effectively. The analyst collaborates closely with IT and business units to promote data quality and uniformity, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and supporting strategic objectives. As a key leader, this role involves guiding junior data professionals and contributing significantly to the development of the company's data governance framework. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and dedicated to leveraging data as a strategic asset to drive business success. This role is essential for upholding the stringent data management standards required to sustain and improve organizational performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain Master Data Integrity: Oversee the creation, updating, and deletion of master data across multiple platforms to ensure accuracy and consistency. Data Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain protocols for data quality, including regular audits and validation processes to ensure data integrity. System Management: Manage user roles and permissions within data management systems, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy policies. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide technical support to resolve discrepancies and improve data usability. Project Leadership: Lead data management projects, including the implementation of new systems and upgrades, ensuring alignment with business goals. Data Governance: Contribute to the establishment and enforcement of data governance practices, including data standards and policies. Reporting and Analysis: Assist in generating reports and extracting data for business analysis, helping stakeholders to make informed decisions based on accurate data. Training and Development: Train and mentor junior data analysts and data stewards, promoting best practices in data management across the organization. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business units and IT departments to understand data needs and ensure that the master data management strategies align with business objectives. Data Integration: Oversee the integration of new data sources into existing systems, ensuring seamless data flows and minimizing disruption to business processes. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all data management practices comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR or HIPAA, to protect data privacy and minimize legal risks. Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of data management systems, identifying areas for improvement and recommending upgrades or changes to enhance system efficiency. Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in data management to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization. Cross-functional Initiatives: Participate in cross-functional teams and projects that require expert data analysis and management insights to achieve project objectives. Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for master data, ensuring data is recoverable in the event of system failures or security breaches. Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Experience successfully managing large datasets and improving data quality and integrity. IT Systems Expertise: Experience with IT systems, particularly ERP systems such as SAP or EPICOR, and familiarity with database management systems like SQL Server. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with experience in using data analysis tools and software to solve complex problems and provide actionable insight Preferred Experience: Master's Degree: A master's degree in information systems, Business Administration with a focus on Information Management, or a similar advanced degree is preferred. Continuing Education: Ongoing training in new data management tools, software updates, and compliance regulations is essential to stay current in the field. Certifications: Certifications in data management or specific technologies such as SAP Master Data Governance, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database Management, or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) are highly beneficial. Practical Experience: Formal training should be complemented by substantial practical experience in data management, particularly in roles that involve large-scale data governance. Interdisciplinary Knowledge: Courses or certifications in project management, business analysis, and cybersecurity are advantageous for understanding the broader impact of data management on business operations. Regulatory Compliance: Experience ensuring data practices comply with relevant industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or others specific to the field. Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects, particularly those involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders, to ensure timely and successful implementations.
