As the Manager, Fleet Maintenance you will lead a team that effectively administers and manages our vehicle maintenance parts and tire programs, administers the warranty program, fosters supplier relationships, as well as oversees the rollout of new process and procedures design for continuous improvement. You'll need strong leadership skills and customer service experience to plan and direct shop leaders on the purchase and inventory of parts and tires along with testing alternative process and options. What you'll do on a typical day: Manage a staff, including developing talent and coaching, leading situational and competency awareness, hiring/firing and driving performance improvement Develop and execute the warranty collection strategy for LTL, including developing training and operational KPIs, and determining BI and IT requirements; assist in training mechanics, supervisors and service center operations team members on warranty program best practices Provide input to Procurement team on best warranty coverage packages on new purchases Advise maintenance staff on best practices to mitigate risk due to out-of-warranty mechanical failures; develop, test and implement programs that improve equipment reliability and decrease mechanical issues Partner with shared resources, including IT, BI and project management teams to support initiatives involving operations, finance and procurement Develop and manage the completion of all equipment campaigns and safety recalls Maintain responsibility for all warranty activities, including power units, trailers, forklifts, hostlers, and fleet maintenance platform business ownership Maintain costs within budget and strive to reduce costs on parts and tires Monitor and analyze trends in parts and tire utilization, including reviewing gains, shortages and usage Minimize the time that equipment is out of service Know and comply with pertinent DOT regulations Train hourly and management personnel in proper maintenance procedures What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need:
Bachelors degree or equivalent related work or military experience 4 years of experience in business, logistics, supply chain management, manufacturing, finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Management or supervisory experience Supervisory experience in a team-focused environment A valid driver's license It'd be great if you also have:
Master's degree in an analytical field or equivalent related work or military experience Experience with Microsoft Office; ability to perform and direct very complex analyses in spreadsheet and database programs such as Excel and Access Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management techniques and processes Excellent communication and leadership skills Fleet maintenance experience Experience working with heavy-truck or automotive mechanical and electrical systems Less-than-Truckload (LTL) experience Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively organize and present information; ability to lead and motivate others Excellent time management skills This job requires the ability to:
Availability to travel up to 25% of the time Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery Work outdoors in inclement weather Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel Be part of something big. #LI-Hybrid We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
