Position Overview: We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for converting prospective clients into customers, awarding freight, securing trucks and negotiating rates with carriers, and ensuring the smooth movement of freight to meet our clients' specific needs in a prompt, effective and personable manner. Depending on experience, base pay starts at $48,000.00 annually, plus commissions.
Responsibilities: Create, develop, and maintain relationships with prospects, customers, and carriers to facilitate the movement of freight. 30 calls per day is the minimum expectation. Negotiate competitive rates and terms with carriers while considering service, capacity, and cost-effectiveness. Manage the entire freight brokerage process from quoting to shipment delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. A willingness to adapt to a new model is required. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and industry software to track shipments, update customers, optimize routes, and provide visibility to clients. Collaborate with internal teams to address any logistical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to make informed business decisions. Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in freight brokerage or logistics operations preferred, but not required. Honesty in all things done and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to take constructive coaching in a positive manner. Proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and industry software. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and clients. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities through creative and dynamic thinking. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
