Seasonal Lifeguard at NewPath! The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring pool activity and facilitating safe and appropriate pool practices. The Lifeguard will also be responsible for rescuing and/or assisting those in need. As the Lifeguard, you will provide instruction to participants and maintain a clean pool environment.

Location: This position will work at our Hamilton West Campus located at 5400 Edalbert Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45239.
LIFEGUARD DUTIES: Patrol and monitor swimming areas, on foot, and from tower. Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment. Contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury. Examine injured persons and administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, if necessary, using training and medical supplies and equipment. Warn recreational participants of inclement weather, unsafe areas, or illegal conduct. Maintain quality of pool water by testing chemical levels. Complete and maintain records of weather, emergency medical treatments performed, and other relevant incident information. Instruct participants in swimming and provide safety precaution information. Inspect recreational equipment, such as ladders, or chair lifts, for safety hazards and damage or wear. Inspect recreational facilities for cleanliness. Observe activities in assigned areas to detect hazards, disturbances, or safety infractions. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements of High School Diploma/GED. American Red Cross lifeguard certification First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) YMCA lifeguard or other certifications may be accepted. Up to 1 year in lifeguard experience; summer season is acceptable. Knowledge and demonstration of basic rescue technique Excellent swimming skills including ability to swim 300 meters. Must be at least 18 years of age, pass a criminal background check & drug screen.
