Responsibilities
• Ensure highest quality customer service for residents• Work with sales team for prospective resident visits• Perform Resident Orientation with new residents• Create monthly programming based on Seven Dimensions of Wellness Model• Execute all elements of signature programs• Manage and schedule guest entertainers, speakers, and vendors• Maintain communication with regional and corporate Life Enrichment team• Foster positive relationships with external organizations and contacts• Promote events/activities to residents• Research and acquire new talent for community events• Prepare monthly newsletter• Lead the Love Is Ageless program for Memory Care communities• Use modern technologies to enhance programs• Display proficiency with software applications and tools used by American House• Responsible for Life Enrichment department petty cash and/or credit card• Communicate with weekend manager-on-duty for weekend activities• Represent American House professionally at community events• Maintain Connected Living community screens and/or main activity board• Update seasonal/holiday decorations throughout the community• Oversee transportation for group outings and personal appointments• Create and manage outing sign-up sheets• Comply with American House's mission, philosophy, and policies• Recruit and oversee friends and family members of residents who donate their time/resources• Notify Executive Director and other contacts of emergency situations• Report needed repairs/maintenance to Executive Director• Obtain and maintain CDL license, if required• Provide leadership and guidance for Life Enrichment Assistants and volunteers• Complete paperwork for new volunteers• Obtain necessary paperwork and records for visiting animals• Place orders for marketing materials• Follow safety regulations and quality assurance procedures• Assist in event of crisis or natural disaster• Attend seminars and identify industry trends• Other duties assigned by Executive Director or corporate team
Requirements
• Degree in Recreational Therapy, Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist, or Certified Activity Director preferred• Extensive experience in creative event management or activity planning• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and energy• Compassion for older adults• Extensive knowledge of current technologies• Experience working with individuals with dementia preferred• Working knowledge of senior living industry preferred• Experience teaching/training others and facilitating groups• Must possess valid driver's license, CDL within 90 days of hire• 21 years of age to obtain CDL
