The Department generally produces research pertaining to insect biology, ecology, and methods of control. Application Review Date
The First Review Date for this job is: Monday, May 27, 2024 Responsibilities Conduct entomological field and laboratory trials of pests and beneficial arthropods on deciduous fruit, nut and vine crop. Conduct Insecticide tolerance studies of various insect pests of deciduous fruit, nut and vine crops. Inspect various deciduous fruit, nut and vine crops for insect damage. Apply insecticides for control of insect pests of deciduous fruit, nut and vine crops. Organize maintain, and statistically analyze data from the above studies. Prepare reports and presentations of the above studies. Maintain laboratory in a clean and organized manner. Required Qualifications Ability to work in various temperature ranging from hot to dry conditions. Great attention to detail. Experience in experimental biology. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Field data collection. Ability to work as a team player.
Education/Training:
Graduation from high school, a General Education Diploma, and/or equivalent experience. Two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $21.38 (step 1.0). This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits. This position is non-exempt and paid bi-weekly. How to Apply
