Hours and Location: This position requires travel to Arvada, Southwest and University Hills 20 hours per week. POSITION SUMMARY The instructor works as part of the Youth Development Team, providing instructional leadership that enables students to learn experientially, through direct guided experience using sensory awareness, active participation, and nature's resources. The instructor works in partnership with staff to create student learning opportunities to support educational objectives, augments classroom curricula, and extends academic/social emotional growth. The STEM Instructor facilitates vocational skill and career development activities that support self-determination, employment readiness, and improved outcomes for all students as they become contributing members of our society.
The instructor will be responsible for teaching our STEM Specialty classes including but not limited to Science, Technology, Engineering, Fun with Math, and Kitchen Science.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Creating age-appropriate lesson plans.? Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in enrichment programs by providing close supervision of all activities.?? Be in an assigned area with all equipment, when needed.?? Create an atmosphere where all participants can have fun, are safe and learn.?? Keep immediate supervisor informed of any concerns or problems regarding program participants or facilities.?? Maintain an organized workspace, responsible for upkeep of supplies, materials, and program rooms.?? Regularly communicate with Senior Manager to discuss lesson plans and activities, to ensure a good working relationship.? Communicate with staff to promote an understanding of the growth and development of the participants attending the program.?? Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.?? QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21+ years of age. High school diploma or GED required, Background in Parks and Recreation, Education, Camp Management, or related field preferred.
