Industrial Engineer Job Description Summary
American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking an ambitious Industrial Engineer to join our world-class team. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a leading company in the automotive industry, where you will have the chance to contribute to the flawless execution of our manufacturing processes. Job Description Collaborate with diverse teams to resolve most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods. Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement to optimize productivity and reduce waste. Design and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles. Provide training and guidance to supervisors and operators as required. Build and update work instructions, process flow charts, and operational guidelines. Conduct time studies and establish labor standards for production operations. Identify and proactively resolve bottlenecks and issues in the production line. Work closely with suppliers to ensure the highest quality components and materials are used. Required Skills and Education Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Consistent track record of efficiently implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Proficient in using statistical analysis software and tools. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with teams from various departments. Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience as an industrial engineer in a manufacturing facility. 2D AutoCAD software experience.
