HIDTA ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT SALARY: $31,363.00 Applicant must be able to acquire a DHS Gov. Security Clearance. This position is grant funded through South Texas HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. The Cameron County District Attorney's Office is a Law Enforcement Agency; employees may occasionally be asked to work outside of the regular 8am-5pm office hours which includes nights and weekends.
Job Description The Unified Narcotics Intelligence Taskforce's (UNIT) administrative assistant is responsible for receiving requests sent in by Law Enforcement Agencies requiring intelligence support assistance in narcotics related investigations. Additional responsibilities consist of keeping accountability for narcotics investigation, case/event and subject deconflictions.
Manage the Performance Management Program.
Record keeping of UNIT operations and finances. Maintain Unit Data as well as typical administrative duties.
Skills and Qualifications Required Minimum High School Education - Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Good writing and verbal communication skills, Computer and Microsoft Office, Organization, Analytical abilities, Problem Solving, Supply Management, Inventory Control.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the UNIT Commander to facilitate the efficient operation of the Intelligence/Investigative Initiative Answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls Receive and direct visitors General clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system Prepare written responses to routine inquiries Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for Supervisors Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules Open, Sort and Distribute incoming correspondence Maintain office equipment and Supply inventories Be able to travel on short notice Coordinate and Maintain records for Staff Performs any and all duties and responsibilities in order to accomplish the goals of the unit, tasks to include but not limited to those listed This is not a Civil Service covered position.
