SCOPE: As a Guidewire Developer at UAIC, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Guidewire applications to enhance our insurance systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze business requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within the insurance industry. DUTIES : Collaborate with business analysts and leadership teams to understand and analyze business requirements. Participate in requirements analysis sessions, providing technical insights and recommendations. Design and develop Guidewire applications, including configuration, integration, and customization of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter modules. Implement and maintain business rules, workflows, and user interfaces within the Guidewire platform. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. Integrate Guidewire applications with external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency. Manage and maintain data models within Guidewire, ensuring accurate representation of business entities and relationships. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Guidewire applications, providing timely support to end-users. Investigate and diagnose system defects, implementing effective solutions and ensuring minimal impact on operations. Conduct thorough testing of Guidewire applications to identify and address any defects or issues. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions. Share knowledge and best practices with team members, promoting continuous learning and improvement. Explore and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of Guidewire applications. Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in Guidewire software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and other developers, to ensure alignment with overall business and technology goals. Actively participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives within an agile development framework. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies. Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency in Guidewire development activities. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Guidewire certifications (e.g., Guidewire Certified Developer) a plus. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3years demonstrated experience working as a developer, knowledgeable in Guidewire Digital and predictive analytics preferred. Knowledgeable in agile development methodologies. Strong programming skills in Java and hands-on experience with Gosu scripting language. Knowledge of Guidewire Studio, Data Model, Business Rules Framework, and Web Services. Familiarity with insurance industry processes and workflows. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
