A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GRANT ANALYST As a Grant Analyst, you are responsible for assisting in the pursuit of grant funding form federal, state, regional, local and foundation/private entities. Your work typically involves assisting in the administration of the CDBG Program and other programs, and all local, state and federal grants to ensure compliance. Researching, developing, planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and reporting generally fill up your day. Your job is essential to the city, and you develop and plan strategies for obtaining grants applicable to government entities. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include coordinating with department and staff resources for carrying out specific projects.
You provide guidance in interpreting and executing applicable regulations and award terms and conditions. You also periodically assess and monitor/audit all grants to ensure execution of compliance standards. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem aiding and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in customer service, grants, and you find genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GRANT ANALYST Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, English, Business, Communications or related field. Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements. Requires two (2) years of experience in related work Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Must have a current and valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety Are you someone who prefers hands-on work?
