Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company's portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations.
The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.
Job Description Under the general supervision of the ancillary manager, the incumbent is responsible for supervising employee's and daily operations of the General Store, Golf Course and 9 & Dine Restaurant while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.
Job Responsibilities 1. Approves and transmits weekly invoices to Accounts Payable
2. Receives and sets weekly ad for all grocery departments
3. Prepares return items, including packaging and associated paperwork, to Associated Foods
4. Able to order all grocery stock
5. Plans grocery end displays
6. Is familiar with and can perform scanning function
7. Responsible for back-room inventory, including orderliness and keeping stock levels low
8. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
9. Reviews for accuracy and approves employee time sheets in UKG system
10. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct
11. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management
12. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance
13. Works without risk or harm to self and others
14. Trains and directs work assignments in all General Store, Golf Course and 9 & Dine areas
15. Interview and recommend hiring of staff members
16. Possession of a valid driver's license issued by state agency or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam
17. Ensures employee compliance with established safety, security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices including money handling and office closing procedures
18. Investigates and resolves complaints from customers or staff
19. Inspects buildings grounds and equipment
20. Works without risk or harm to self and others
21. Punctuality and regular attendance required
22. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above
23. Perform other related functions as assigned by Sr. Supervisor or Manager
Education and Experience 1. Must be able to manage deadlines and multiple tasks
2. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
3. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
4. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team
5. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
6. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets
7. Must be able to lead others and provide feedback as necessary
8. Must be able to anticipate the desires of the consumer when creating end displays, and react accordingly
9. Must be detail oriented
10. At least 1-3 years' experience in a retail grocery operation
11. Experience as a manager or assistant manager of a retail grocery operation is preferred
12. Previous experience in direct supervision of employees is important, as is the ability to work with the public
13. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
14. Requires valid driver's license
