Full job description General Manager - Hampton Inn & Suites - Houghton, MI - Franchise
Job Requirements Hampton Inn & Suites - Houghton, MI seeks candidates for their General Manager position.
This 111 room hotel is located in a prime downtown location with dining, shopping & entertainment within walking distance. Houghton, MI is a college town of 8,000 permanent residents. The area is abundant in natural resources, historical sites and seasonal tourism.
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the hotel, including the duties below.
Responsible for the overall success of the hotel. Maintain the highest level of guest service. Know the daily operations of each department, establishing and maintaining a positive employee climate to meet and exceed guest expectations.
Accurately forecast occupancy, ADR and revenue; reacting quickly to changing market conditions. Oversee and assist in the creation of groups, corporate bookings and sales. Responsibility for the hiring and training of employees in all departments. Communicate with department managers occupancy forecasts and trends. Monitor, maintain and verify payroll and control costs. Ordering of hotel, breakfast, housekeeping, maintenance, Treat Shop supplies and goods. Control room rates to maximize occupancy and revenue. Actively participate in all aspects of the manager on duty. Assist with Front Desk duties in peak times. Along with the Front Desk Manager, train new front desk employees. Create work schedules for multiple departments. Oversee direct bills and accounts payable and process payments. Ensure Brand Standards of quality are maintained. Rollout new programs as instructed by the brand. Assist guests with any special requests or problems that may arise. Review and walk through to maintain quality of every area of the property. Manage food and beverage operations, including ordering, QA and health department standards. Completing employee reviews. Respond quickly to guest complaints. Effectively delegate projects and duties. Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2-5 years experience as a General Manager in the hospitality industry. Those with experience in the Hilton brands are preferred. Proven track record of maintaining a team and creating a culture of care and accountability. Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, lead by example work style. Flexibility with schedule. Hospitality management is a 24/7 position. Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when needed and for special events.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Ability to plan, organize, and lead the activities of Team Members. Benefits The position includes the following offers:
