Because of their continued growth, a general contractor in the local area is seeking an Commercial Construction Estimator to join their team. Estimator Duties and Responsibilities:
* The estimator will be responsible for working on several potential projects valued between $5M-200M.
* Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise by defining, implementing, and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices, and procedures.
* Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the firm's strategic direction.
* Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
* Establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates.
* Oversees and supports several projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
* Negotiation bids on new build projects.
* Review subcontractor proposals and level out the subcontractor proposals.
* Create subcontractor bid scopes of work.
* Perform quantity take-offs and square foot analysis and present in an organized manner.
Estimator Qualifications:
* 7+ years of directly related experience, preferably in the commecrial/residential construction industry.
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred.
* Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
* Strong management skills and ability to lead and motivate team members.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments and agencies.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and judge when to involve others.
* Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
* Ability to problem solve and generate innovative solutions.
* Efficient in Procore, MS Office, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail applications
