Job Summary For those interested in Seed Technicians role, then this is the perfect job for you. You will be responsible for seed production within a location. Additionally, activities may require bending and lifting, long periods of sitting or standing.
Job Description Seed Technicians are involved in all facets of seed production within a location. Indoor seed processing and packaging activities may include receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, or warehousing seed. Outdoor activities may include planting, pollinating, note taking, data entry, hand harvest. R&D positions may also include electronic data collection in field and laboratory settings utilizing PC and handheld data collection devices. May be responsible for preventive maintenance of equipment in assigned areas. Manufacturing (Production) positions may also include organizing, moving, and placing seed into storage, maintaining inventory accuracy utilizing electronic inventory systems. Activities may require bending and lifting (50 lbs. seed bag), long periods of sitting or standing. Extended hours may be requested during the peak seasons. Skills Required 4-6 Years of Experience Must be able to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately. Must be able to adhere to all client SOPs and to support all site safety requirements. Basic mechanical ability / understanding of equipment maintenance (able to operate and trouble shoot equipment) may be required (To know how to operate the seed counters and sewing machine to close bags (cleaning, noticing breakage). Education/Training/Certifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and /or related experience may be required. Additional Requirements Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check Shift Hours: 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm to 6:30 am Rotating PPE is needed: Steel Toe shoes needed everything else will be provided ( hard hat, Hy-vis, safety glasses, etc.) Main job duties for these positions: Driving forklift, Quality checks on product, help run process lines. IMPORTANT NOTE for POTENTIAL US CANDIDATES: Client's expects its colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Client's defines fully vaccinated in alignment with CDC which is two weeks after completing the two-dose vaccine regimen or two weeks after completing the one-dose regimen.
