Engineering Designer positionHybrid remote in Livonia, MIDesign hardware systems and components for vehicles

Responsibilities
• Develop key geometrical architectures using 3D CAD, CAE, and physical prototypes• Work with product design teams to develop propulsion systems of vehicles• Ideate and create new solutions for automotive applications• Problem-solve using 3D CAD to find geometric solutions• Optimize vehicle topology to deliver efficient propulsion system concepts
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field• 5+ years of experience in an automotive product development environment• 3+ years of experience designing in Catia V5 or V6• 1+ years of experience designing in Dassault 3DX• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Key Skills Needed
• Strong grasp of mechanical engineering fundamentals• Experience in vehicle systems, vehicle architecture, or powertrain systems development• Knowledge of design for manufacturing processes• Hands-on experience narrowing product scope and facilitating cross-functional decisions• Familiarity with automotive regulations and consumer ratings• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)• Capability to use 3D CAD software• Exemplary communication skills• Highly collaborative• Eager to participate in projects
