Description
Stargate Charter School is seeking an individual to serve as an Elementary School Assistant Principal. This position will assist the Principal in the administration of the elementary school, including but not limited to, developing and enforcing policies related to student discipline and attendance; planning, organizing and implementing curriculum; hiring, supervising, evaluating and assisting with dismissing personnel; monitoring and enforcing building safety and security; assisting in planning and implementing student programs; and assisting in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan.
This is a 10.5 month, full time, benefited position with a salary range from $80,365 - $118,067 based on related experience. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental, STD, LTD, life insurance, and paid time off; other optional benefits plans, like vision, life and AD&D insurance are available and paid by employee. (Please note benefits are subject to change without notice.)

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and maintain discipline policies and procedures.
Develop, implement and monitor attendance policies and procedures.
Plan, organize and implement curriculum and instruction in accordance with District and state guidelines and procedures.
Develop and maintain relationships with parents and community to encourage and value their participation in the learning experience of the whole child.
Assist in the management of human resources, including hiring, supervising, evaluating and assisting with dismissing personnel.
Monitor safety and security of the building. Respond timely to building security and maintenance needs.
Assist in program planning and implementation for recipient groups (e.g., gifted and talented, ELL, non-categorical, special education, at-risk, etc.).
Assist in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan, including staff development.
Assist in implementing and gathering student data.
Participate in personal professional growth opportunities
Demonstrate effective instruction leadership skills that provide focus on student achievement.
Assesses quality of classroom instruction by monitoring, being visible, conducting walkthroughs regularly, communicating, and providing a clear behavior structure and atmosphere.
Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, disciplining, terminating, directing work, assigning work, training and evaluating.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Education, Licenses, and Related Work Experience:
Masters Degree in education or related subject.
Valid Colorado Department of Education principal/administrative license.
Minimum of 3 years of verifiable classroom teaching experience.
Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal relations and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage conflict.
Knowledge and experience implementing gifted best practices.
Classroom experience necessary.
Ability to apply educational research.
Knowledge of data analysis, curriculum and instruction, budgeting and accounting, special education laws and master agreement/labor relations.
Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job. Includes adapting to and mastering new system applications and processes as implemented by the school or district.
Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, school policies, building and department procedures.
Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment.
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
Materials and Equipment Operating Knowledge:
Operating knowledge of school and district information technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment required within 2 months after entering position.
Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, email, etc.
