Drainage Design Lead Engineer Qualifications and Experience Needed:
Must have 2 years of specific WSDOT highway drainage design experience within the last 5 years
Must have HRM certification through WSDOT
Must have design experience with an ability to solve problems as they arise
Must have software experience - MicroStation and InRoads
Preferred software experience - HEC-HMS, StormShed3G, Hy-8 Culvert Hydraulic Analysis Program, MGS Flood continuous simulation hydrologic model Version 4.52 or higher for runoff treatment and flow control BMP designs in Western Washington
Project Coordination experience is a plus
Drainage Design Lead Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
You will develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed on assigned tasks to see that items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice
You will prepare and/or directly supervise stormwater drainage system design
You are involved in the resolution of design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work and detailed checking of design computations done by others or general coordination of specific design aspects of a project
You will oversee conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work
You can make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods
You will require the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories and practices of the field
You will coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants and firm staff

$100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience
