Day Description Develops, maintains and enforces the company Quality Management System ensuring standardized processes and procedures are in place which support company strategic, customer, and regulatory requirements. Ensures process and product compliance through appropriate review and approval of work product. Serves as the primary interface for customer and regulatory Quality audits.
This position has been identified as a key position with specific responsibilities, input, support and alignment with Click Bond's Quality & Environmental Management System (QEMS). The QEMS is the overall framework for the company's policies and operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Establish the requirements and structure for the company Quality Management System while ensuring AS9100 and Nadcap accreditations are achieved and maintained. Promote a strong culture of quality focused on every employee engaged and enhancing the customer experience through rigorous attention to detail and prevention of defects. Responsible for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision for the Quality department. Develop and implement strategic Quality initiatives and programs promoting sound and effective principles as set forth in company procedures, standards and directives. Ensure that the department conforms to these principles. Develop standardized processes, tools and methods for product inspection/verification and associated compliance documentation. Ensure proper certifications are maintained and training programs are developed and deployed so that quality personnel meet company, industry and regulatory requirements. Establish ongoing training programs that appropriately reach each person within the organization, the goal of which is to improve quality measurement techniques and to increase awareness of quality throughout the organization. Request and oversee customer audits for all quality systems and process approvals. Resolve disputed issues pertaining to customer corrective actions and internal quality issues relating to interpretation of customer and engineering requirements. Lead and direct the quality assurance and quality control teams including monitoring and tracking performance. Establish functional expectations for quality, cost, delivery, and safety. Maintain and coordinate the structure, standardization between sites, and approval process for company or customer owned command media (processes, specifications, standards, etc.) Ensure procedures, processes, and controls are maintained for the creation and retention of required quality records in support of regulatory and customer requirements. Establish organizational/departmental budgets. Pursue new technologies to aid in achieving business and production goals. Ensure alignment with company accounting policies and strict adherence to those policies in daily operations/activities. Improve the efficiency of the Quality organization through effective leadership, individual and group training, and process improvement. Support and participate in the organization's safety programs to ensure a safe environment for all of the facility's employees and guests. Support Commercial and Engineering teams with contract and purchase order review as it relates to quality system requirements. Ensure that appropriate levels of staffing are maintained. Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts. Report immediately any machine or process challenges and all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor. Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas. Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies: Working knowledge of aerospace industry quality standards, regulations, and certification requirements. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Effective communication and negotiation skills for collaboration with suppliers, internal customers, and external customers. In-depth knowledge of quality and manufacturing systems processes and applicable Customer Requirements and Industry Standards / Specifications as well as a Practical knowledge of Quality Systems including AS9100, CFRs, is required. Previous experience working with the FAA required. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Science is required. Master's Degree desired. Minimum 15 years' experience in manufacturing, or quality, preferably in an aerospace environment. Minimum 5 years quality management or leadership experience in an aerospace environment. Extensive experience within the aerospace industry, particularly with adhesive and composite materials. Project management experience required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages supervisors and managers who supervise multiple employees in the Quality department. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
