ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for a Deputy Chief of Field Operations (Natural Resources Administrator 4) within the Division of Parks & Wat ercraft . The position requires travel but will be headquartered in Franklin County at 2045 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. What you will do… Assist the Assistant Chief in planning, organizing, and directing the Division of Parks and Watercraft's Construction, Dredging, Dam Tender, Water/Wastewater and Safety programs. Develop & administer operational plans for programs assigned, in order to meet division's mission, goals, & objectives. Evaluate work progress toward achievement of program objectives & reports to leadership on a timely basis. Provide guidance/technical assistance to address current programmatic issues &/or concerns & in developing future programmatic initiatives. Serve as direct supervisor of assigned staff. Starting hourly pay of $39.27/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $56.10/hr. Requires travel; may be on call 24 hrs. per day, 7 days per week. Qualifications
66 mos. trg. or 66 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description (i.e., Construction, Dredging, Dam Tender, Water/Wastewater and Safety); valid driver's license.



Or undergraduate major core program & 42 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description (i.e., Construction, Dredging, Dam Tender, Water/Wastewater and Safety; valid driver's license. Or completion of graduate major core program & 30 mos. exp. in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description (i.e., Construction, Dredging, Dam Tender, Water/Wastewater and Safety); valid driver's license. Or 6 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Administrator 3, 22913, in assigned area (i.e., Construction, Dredging, Dam Tender, Water/Wastewater and Safety); valid driver's license. Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
