Job Duties

Virginia's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is looking for a service-oriented professional to work as a Part-Time (Wage) Customer Service Technician at the Christiansburg Customer Service Center (CSC). We want to talk with you if you possess strong customer service and problem-solving skills, are willing to learn, and want a career with growth opportunities.

The selected applicant will handle various customer transactions, including communicating policies, procedures, and regulations; issuing IDs; processing applications; administering vision, driver, and in-car road tests; processing vehicle registrations and titling; tax collection; and other DMV-related services.

Minimum Qualifications Customer service experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Keyboarding proficiency and use of automated systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience with standard business practices.
Flexibility to work M-F and Saturday.
Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Must have attention to detail and accuracy and complete assignments on time.
Must have a valid VA Driver's License with a driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway safety and concern for the law. The driving record should have a point balance of less than six demerit points and no major convictions.
Experience working in a team or group environment.
Can lift 10 - 25 pounds.
