Job Responsibility Description

Main Activities

1 Coordinate all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement.

2 Process Customer Service orders, plan & optimize shipments using the Transportation Management System.

3 Review delivery orders to select the correct route based on the destination, shipment size and customer time requirements as well as other particular customer needs for each request.

4 Tender delivery orders to company drivers, owner operators and Interliner effectively and efficiently by providing on time detailed instructions.

5 Control driver, truck and route productivity by ensuring that each truck carries a full load and minimize bobtail/deadhead occurrences.

6 Maintain compliance by tracking driver's Hours of Service prior to tendering delivery orders.

7 Update the Transportation Management System with current shipment information and respond to internal customer service inquiries.

8 Timely resolve any dispatch or delivery time issues with warehousing and transportation partners. Coordinate daily load planning and partnering with Customer Service and Warehousing to ensure on time pickup and delivery.

9 Monitor and update shipment status on Customer Portals such as HUB, Expeditors, etc. to maintain positive performance reviews.

10 Effectively communicate load discrepancies such as delays, breakdowns, etc. to appropriate departments to ensure that customers are notified promptly.

11 Monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) documents and ensure that they follow start times, end times, driver assist, signatures and other requirements.

12 Report warehouse complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.

13 Determines content and assembles data to prepare monthly reports for review.

14 Develop Load Planner loss reports to demonstrate the impact on department P&L to make effective current and future operation decisions.

15 Reviews new procedures, manuals, and system enhancements and suggests revisions.

16 Monitors that all Delivery Orders are issued to drivers within DOT Standards and Regulations.

17 Composes routine letters and reports using instructions or guidelines of the work area

18 Performs work assigned.
