Full job description Overview: The Center for Student Leadership & Engagement is seeking to hire a Coordinator of Student Organizations. The Coordinator serves as the lead point of contact for all student organization training, resources, and support for the over 100 student organizations, organization leaders, and organization advisors on campus. The Coordinator advises the Student Organization Committee (SOC) of Macalester College Student Government (MCSG), supportorting the creation, auditing, and managing of student organization registration. In addition, the Coordinator advises the Financial Affairs Committee (FAC) of MCSG, advising FAC in the allocation and management of a budget of approximately $200,000 a year for student organizations and MCSG committees.

The Coordinator of Student Organizations uses knowledge of student learning and development to develop, design, and implement programs and services that support student leadership, transitions, and campus engagement. This position fosters learning through student engagement guided by learning outcomes and assesses the effectiveness of strategies in creating learning and leadership experiences, contributing to a dynamic and robust campus life for all students.

This role is onsite 5 days a week, rarely ever offsite.
About The Department: The Center for Student Leadership and Engagement (CSLE) creates intentional learning opportunities for students to engage in campus life, develop leadership skills, and build inclusive communities throughout their Macalester experience. The Center for Student Leadership & Engagement is home to Macalester College Student Government (MCSG), Student Organizations, Student Leadership Development, Program Board, New Student Orientation, Senior Week, Campus Center Programs, Open Pantry, and the Macalester Forensics program.
Responsibilities: Develops and implements comprehensive advising and services that facilitate successful student organization involvement. Oversees the management of student organization registration and administrative logistics in Modern Campus Involve software. Administers contracts under $2000 for student organizations. Responsible for management of student organization travel processes and documentation sharing details with appropriate campus partners as needed. Responsible for oversight and management of student organization fundraising initiatives. Demonstrates the commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity. Actively engages in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion to increase individual capacity to support institutional changes that create and sustain a more welcoming and inclusive environment across the Macalester Community. Plans and implements programs that support Student Organization growth and development, such as the Student Organization Fair, Student Organization Leadership Orientation, New Student Organization Onboarding, Transition Workshops, Presence Trainings, etc. Provides support and resources to staff/faculty organization advisors. Responsible for Advisor training and communications. Attends select org meetings and events to provide additional support. Serves as primary advisor to the Financial Affairs Committee and Student Organization Committee of Macalester College Student Government. In partnership with the Financial Affairs Committee chair, manages allocation of Student Activity Fee to associated committees and student organizations. Facilitates training and resources related to student organization budget requests, tracking, org renewal, and Modern Campus Involve software processes. Supervises FAC Bookkeeper. Collaborates with CSLE staff to implement office initiatives including, New Student Orientation, supplemental orientation programs, and leadership programs. In coordination with the Associate Director of SLE (Leadership & Orientation) plan, implement and deliver a tailored orientation experience. Serve on college-wide committees as assigned. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's Degree 1-3 years of experience in Student programming, advising, and supervision. Learning outcomes development and assessment. Student learning and development. Program planning and implementation. Ability to problem solve. Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying priority on a regular basis. Strong organizational skills. Ability to multi-task without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to take initiative, work independently and perform job duties with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Chat, Gmail, Calendar), Modern Campus Involve Software, Microsoft Office, Wells Fargo Commercial, Student Timesheet, and Argos Budget Management. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred: Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs etc.

Compensation: The annual wage for this position will be $49,600 to $52,000, depending on experience.
