VERDANT'S WORK Public Hospital District #2, Snohomish County, founded the Verdant Health Commission in 2012 to better serve the healthcare needs of the residents in South Snohomish County. Revenue from leased properties provides funding for collaborative grantmaking to nonprofits in the community that deliver essential services aligning with Verdant's strategic priorities. A five-member board of commissioners governs the strategic direction, oversees operations and awards funding for the Verdant Health Commission. 


Role Responsibilities: 
Supervision Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training instructors and consultants as well as recruiting and training volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and performance management; addressing complaints and resolving concerns.Community Outreach (35%) Manage the creation and execution of a community outreach and engagement plan, and the development of partnership pathways for individuals and organizations that align with Verdant's mission and vision.Regularly analyze the diversity of community needs to identify opportunities to grow Verdant's impact through strategic partnerships with community partners that advance health equity.Conduct strategic community outreach to include special events, community events, trade shows, and resource fairs and maintain a master calendar of annual Verdant sponsored events and coordinate staff and volunteer participation in community events including tabling and presentations.Attend and participate in community events and activities to foster relationships with residents and build understanding of organizational goals and priorities.Design and implement evaluation tools to gauge and ensure impact and measure cost effectiveness of outreach and engagement strategies.Verdant Programs (60%) Coordinate nutritional programs including cooking classes and distribution of food vouchers to community partners.Plan and produce Verdant workshops and classes for diverse audiences that address emerging issues.Oversee direction of Verdant's special events and collaborate with the community impact team to support Verdant Partner Roundtable, Community Health Networking Event and technical assistance workshops.Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional materials and communications for classes and programs.Program Reporting (5%) Report class attendance and distribution of food vouchers and provide monthly reports to inform future planning.Work closely with the marketing manager to recommend event sponsorships for funding.Manage program budgets and events and work closely with finance team to ensure timely and accurate tracking of expenses.Prepare and present program impact data for committee and board meetings.Performs other duties as assigned. Candidate Qualifications: 
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in health, human services, social work or related preferred. A combination of work and lived experience may substitute for this requirement.  Five or more years of community work.Bilingual in English and one other language preferred.Experience in health promotion or community engagement programs such as Promotoros, Community Health Workers and/or peer navigators preferred.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficient in various office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and other relevant software products.Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to work in diverse communities with people from various backgrounds.Excellent meeting, facilitation, and project management skills, including clear and concise verbal and written communications.Flexibility to respond to emerging needs.An abiding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in all forms.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to stay calm under pressure.A strong sense of integrity.Working Environment/Physical: To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to perform work on computer for multiple hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards. Individuals must be able to engage clients over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Occasional evening and weekend hours needed to coordinate and attend meetings and events.Reasonable accommodations may be made to assist individuals with disabilities to perform essential position functions.Position requires travel using personal vehicle. Other Requirements: A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
