The Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting and partnering with the Teacher (and Teacher Aide) in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in a group in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation and Wisconsin Young Star standards. The Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting and partnering with the Teacher (and Teacher Aide) in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in a group in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation and Wisconsin Young Star standards. Requirements Work with assigned child(ren) to ensure safe play in the classroom Supports the goal and objectives of classroom activities by helping prepare materials, obtaining required supplies or equipment to support the child(ren) Actively works with child during an activity, and assists with clean-up after an activity Assist the Teacher in completing the developmental assessments for assigned child(ren) as requested Assist in preparing educational materials required to implement daily lesson plans Attend and participate in all job relate meetings and trainings as assigned, as well as individual mentoring sessions; including completion of up to 25 hours of job-related training annually Assist Teacher and Teacher Aide in providing positive guidance Experience working with people with disabilities and medical needs Knowledge of basic first aid Ride bus with assigned child(ren) as needed Demonstrate sensitivity towards all cultures Experience working with low income and multicultural families Other duties as assigned Benefits medical, dental, vision sick and vacation time free life insurance and long term disability 4 % 403(b) plan match after 2 years flexible spending accounts You may be able to receive help in paying your college loans off through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program due to working for Reach Dane Pay: $15.84 to $16.32 an hour, depending on education. The number of infants and toddlers experiencing homelessness enrolled in our programs has tripled over the last four years. Last year, Reach Dane served more homeless children than any other Head Start program in Wisconsin.
