This is an amazing opportunity for experienced Civil Litigation Associate Attorneys to join a growing, highly-collaborative, mid-sized, full-service law firm. The civil litigation associate position offers a wide range of challenging litigation work, manages various phases of litigation for assigned cases, all phases of discovery, appears before state and federal courts, performs legal research, drafts pleadings, motions and briefs, conducts depositions, develops facts, makes legal arguments, reports case updates to managing attorney and clients in defense of our clients. This position will develop strategies for litigated matters, including commercial, regulatory, product liability, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, personal injury, construction defect, professional liability, and insurance-coverage matters.
Salary--competitive with our direct competitors. Attorneys are expected to bill 1750 hours per year and are eligible for bonuses starting at 1850 hours. Depending on experience an attorney would have the title of associate, special counsel or of counsel and generally work with 1-3 partners who would assign work and provide mentoring as needed Qualifications 2 years of experience in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, professional liability defense, and/or construction defect litigation. Strong research and writing capabilities are a must. Ideal candidate has significant experience and developed talent in the areas of trial and deposition, legal writing, and legal research. Bar license in state of North Carolina.
