Carpenter
Carpenter performs routine tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of wood structures, fixtures and furnishings according to blueprints, sketches or specific instructions. Performs finish and rough carpentry duties and assists in other maintenance duties as assigned. Department: Facilities Services Hours: Day Shift Pay Range : $20.59 - $31.91, pay based on applicable experience. Responsibilities
Constructs and designs millwork, such as cabinets, vanities, countertops, bookcases, shelving and special projects (nurses' station, elevator and walk-in coolers, etc.) utilizing blueprints, specifications or rough sketches. In doing so, ensures construction meets all building code regulations., Constructs drop ceiling grids. In doing so, measures, lays out and installs metal grid to conform to room size, including layout for vents and lights in ceiling grid., Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with department and Health Center personnel and outside agencies., Installs and repairs vinyl floor coverings and vinyl cove base using proper installation materials and techniques., Installs or repairs doors and related hardware including door latches, sets, anchor frames and access panels; hags new door closures; and repairs door closures and hinges. Maintains and regulates automation of electronic doors., Locates appropriate materials to accommodate construction and maintenance projects., Maintains records of all work performed, materials used and time spent on each assignments., Performs repairs to ceramic tile surfaces, both, walls and floors, utilizing manual and power tile cutting equipment., Performs various types of carpentry tasks, such as wall construction using wood and metal studs. Repairs and replaces doors and door closures. Installs and repairs drywall, masonry surfaces, blue board, laminated materials and wall protection materials., Removes, repairs and replaces various types of flooring such as carpet, vinyl, ceramic and floor tile, cutting to fit as needed., Repairs and replaces windows, window shades, Venetian blinds and various types of curtain rods utilizing wall anchors as necessary., Repairs or replaces Health Center furnishings such as rocking chairs, desks, recliners, bed rails, upholstering, bedside tables, etc., Supports and is involved in the Health Center's continuous quality improvement efforts designed to increase patient outcomes, increase patient satisfaction and improve the utilization of the Health Center's human, capital and physical resources., Utilizes various saws, planners, sanders, drills and hammers in installing, repairing or constructing various furnishings throughout the Health Center.
