SLCC's enriching Development Student Ambassador Program provides students from diverse fields and backgrounds the opportunity to learn about these fields through collaboration with the SLCC Development Office. This unique experience offers an insider's look into the complexities of higher education by working alongside Development Officers in the areas of corporate and foundation relations, development, planned giving, donor relations, scholarships, advancement services and stewardship. Students gain practical knowledge and skills that enrich their social and academic experiences while honing leadership skills and building a professional network. Competitive applicants should have a willingness to engage with students, staff, and donors. They must have excellent communication skills, be adaptable to a variety of different tasks, and possess a genuine excitement about SLCC's mission. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Attend and document minutes for development team meetings and other relevant gatherings. Assist in the planning and execution of Foundation board, Alumni Leadership Council, Planned Giving Advisory Council meetings, other events within the development office. Assist with administrative tasks of the development office, including filing, data entry, and record-keeping as needed. Handle incoming and outgoing communications, ensuring timely and professional responses. Maintain the confidentiality of donor and alumni information and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive data. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to office administration, communication, and/or other areas of interest. Other duties as assigned. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum 2.0 GPA Registered for 9.0 credit for Fall and Spring semesters Registered for 6.0 credit hours for Summer semester Participate in Campus Internship Program professional development activities Maintain 15-20 hours per week work schedule Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle various administrative tasks efficiently.Proficiency in office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database management tools.A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and document preparation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with donors, alumni, colleagues, and other stakeholders.Ability to draft professional emails, letters, and reports.
