Role Summary:
Join our Centralized Private Equity Team with a pivotal role aimed at fortifying our position in the dynamic landscape of private company investments. We are committed to fostering organized, focused, and enduring relationships within the private company investing ecosystem. Your expertise in understanding the venture capital backed private company landscape and staying abreast of industry trends will be crucial. This role demands the ability to cultivate and maintain robust internal and external relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:
Business Development/Relationship Management:
- Support senior team members in structured VC/PE firm outreach, private company tracking, and monitoring industry trends.
- Assist in identifying target private companies for potential investments based on various screening criteria.
- Maintain comprehensive records of interactions with VC and PE firms, ensuring timely follow-up with portfolio companies.
- Prepare briefing materials for all meetings with private companies and their sponsors.
- Monitor financing transactions and industry developments.
- Track and occasionally participate in dedicated private company/VC events.
Value-Add Services:
- Lead and coordinate efforts related to business development and relationship management with private companies.
- Coordinate internal resources to offer services such as IPO preparation, introductions to potential customers and partners, and organizing events or webinars.
- Establish and maintain a roster of pre-qualified executive and director candidates for potential referral.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with operational tasks related to the functioning of CPET, including investment performance tracking, database management, and conducting industry analyses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of directly related experience.
- Familiarity with and passion for the private markets.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
- Experience in business development, relationship management, and team leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and sound judgment.
- Comfortable working in an unstructured environment, generating new ideas, and embracing continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree and/or MBA from a widely recognized institution.
- Knowledge of T. Rowe Price.
FINRA Requirements:
- FINRA licenses are not required for this role.
Work Flexibility:
- This role is eligible for remote work up to one day a week.
