We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Benefits Consultant/Specialist to join our Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Services Program. In addition to working with DVR consumers, the Benefits Consultant/Specialist will also work with Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) to provide benefit-related services. As our Benefits Consultant/Specialist, you will be working directly with individuals with disabilities to provide information and support regarding Social Security and other benefits our consumers may have and how those may be affected by employment or other factors. You will help consumers gain an understanding of how their current benefit situation can change based on gaining employment or changes to income. You will provide information about the work incentives that are available to SSDI and SSI beneficiaries.

SALARY: Position starts at $19.00 per hour with opportunities for $1.00 performance increases at six months and one year
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BENEFITS SPECIALIST: Develop reports about client benefit situations and possible future employment. Reports will include information about work incentives that are available within the benefit programs, to provide the information needed to allow for informed choice in employment planning. Meet with consumers in PSG offices, libraries, job centers, community buildings, or via Internet or telephone. Gather information about clients/consumers about their benefit situation and goals. Present information in an understandable format to consumers/clients, DVR Counselors, and Payees or Guardians to encourage informed choice about employment options. Complete billing and reports as required. Assist with Job Developer tasks and services as needed in the DVR program. LOCATION: Office is located in Kenosha, WI with local travel required. Client meetings may be scheduled at our office, at community centers, or within client homes. Must be able to meet in-person with clients in Kenosha County, WI. SCHEDULE: Hours are varied Monday-Friday with a flexible schedule.
