BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position): Prepares food and oversees attendants in the proper methods of food preparation / service and sanitation.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Sous Chef. Prepare & Cook all food for banquets according to BEOs with help of Banquet Chef & Prep Cooks as needed. Insure proper techniques for public service & food handling. Report feedback from customers for constructive ideas for change. Must be knowledgeable enough to function as leader in all aspects of buffet & banquette operations. Shows productivity & consistency in food preparation & work habits for others to follow. Helps as Buffet cook/attendant when needed. Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience) :
Three years progressively challenging kitchen experience, with demonstrated strengths in the areas of classic cooking & buffets or banquettes. Applicants with a degree in culinary arts will be preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manages anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately.
