Title: Assistant Professor (WOT), Physiatrist with Cancer Rehabilitation Focus, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine Position The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a physiatrist with focus on cancer rehabilitation to join our faculty at UW Medicine as a full-time Assistant Professor (without tenure due to source of funding, which is typical of ranked faculty appointments within the department), in the Clinician-Educator pathway. Academic rank at the time of appointment is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated start date will be in Spring 2024, but other dates may be considered.
We offer a collaborative and patient-centered, multidisciplinary academic environment.
The successful candidate will join our growing, multidisciplinary oncology rehabilitation program at the University of Washington and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (FHCC), providing clinical care to a diverse mix of oncology patients and also will have clinical responsibilities in the outpatient clinics. Opportunities to practice general outpatient rehabilitation, perform procedures (spasticity management, electrodiagnostics, etc.), and to work on the consultative rehabilitation service also are available based on the candidate's interests and institutional needs. The selected individual will collaborate closely with clinical and research experts in supportive care at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, including Integrative Medicine, Medical Nutrition, Rehabilitation Therapies, Pain Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychosocial Oncology, and Spiritual Care. This position will support the right candidate in building an academic career that includes excellence in clinical care, teaching, research opportunities, quality improvement and program development.
There also will be opportunity to participate in the teaching of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residents/fellows and other students, staff, or faculty. The majority of this teaching may take place as part of clinical supervision of their activities and other didactic sessions.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
The base salary range for this position will be $14,166 - $20,194 per month ($169,992 - $242,328 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include any of the following, if applicable: incentive through UW Physicians (UWP), moving allowance, relocation incentive.
