Job summary
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for maintaining Old Naples Surf Shop's high standard of guest service and leadership of team members while maintaining store standards, visual merchandising, operational and facility management.
Job seniority: associate level
Responsibilities
• Partner in conjunction with Store Manager to motivate, support and communicate exceptional customer service and experience for guests• Lead sales team and assign daily floor duties and tasks• Perform store opening and closing procedures including counting registers and register funds, completing bank deposits, and securing the facility• Take ownership for maintaining a high standard of store maintenance including daily cleaning, exterior store maintenance, furniture, fixtures, upholstered items, lighting, air filters, plants, etc.• Check and notify manager of needed office and cleaning supplies (register tape, paper products, note pads, etc.)• Manage decorating the store for holidays• Partner with buyer and complete markdowns and promotions to increase planned turn-over• Coordinate Rentals - scheduling, waivers, notifying manager if board repairs are needed• Assist with marketing of store through: Social Media, Emails, Newsletters/Flyers, Events, Promotions, Rewards Program• Monitor phone and email messages• Update end of day sheet to communicate activities in store• Attend and participate in weekly manager meetings
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience• Minimum 2 years in retail management preferred• Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills• Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point• Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements; including nights, weekends and holidays• Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations• Goal oriented and customer focused• Ability to make decisions based on the complete Company perspective• Able to lift 50 pounds or more• Be able to be stand/walk for extended periods of time
