The Assembly Operator A assembles, labels, and prepares parts for shipping. Duties/Responsibilities: Assemble and label parts. Prepare parts for venting. Assemble brackets. Deburr and de-flash parts. Package and prepare orders for shipping. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. Ability to apply fractions, addition, subtraction, division and decimals, and common fractions in all units of measure. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, bill of materials, and assembly drawings. Ability to use small electric tools such as drills, nut drivers, and cutters. Ability to read tape measures. Good verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Education and Experience: A high school diploma or general education (GED) is required. Up to one year of related experience and/or training. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described are representative of those that an employee must successfully perform. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up 35-50 pounds. Charles Industries weight rule: 35 lbs. and under can be lifted alone. 35 - 50 lbs. can be lifted by one person if they feel comfortable doing so. 50 lbs. or more requires the employee to get assistance or use a lifting device. (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, scissor table, buddy system). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions. The employee regularly works near moving, vibrating mechanical equipment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and exposed to minimal risk of electrical shock. Noise level is usually loud, hearing protection and testing are required. PPE required. Safety shoes/boots are required. Working in the Fab department mayrequire employee to occasionally work around chemicals as defined in the work instruction for the plating operation area.The noise level is usually loud.
