The Assembly Group Lead plans and coordinates the final assembly of Group Operated electrical Switches (Group Ops). This position is responsible for executing the daily production plan provided by the Master Scheduler. The Group Lead is a key position within the factory leadership team and is routinely required to work effectively with personnel from scheduling, engineering, quality, warehouse, and purchasing departments. Being able to achieve desired results without direct supervisory authority is key to the success of this position.
Group Ops Group Lead Responsibilities: Coordinate with the Master Scheduler and the warehouse functions to execute the daily production plan for each month Supervise 3-5 hourly assembly line workers Ensure hourly assembly manpower is available to support assembly requirements Monitor and report daily status of production orders on the shop floor Lead or perform accurate and timely internal job order processing on the ERP system Verify material availability for production orders with the warehouse team Utilize analysis skills to determine root causes of quality issues and implement actions to resolve them Provide support and coordination for the annual physical inventory activity Learn the processes and products and become a "student of the business" Provide Disaster preparedness and Emergency Procedures Create and follow ISO type process instructions and procedures Actively enforce company safety policies and procedures Initiate Corrective Action plans and documentation when required Ensure the highest level of process compliance and accuracy are maintained for all activities Qualifications for Group Ops Group Lead: High School diploma/GED required. 2-4 years of assembly type production experience Experience operating within an ERP system utilizing a work order process Valid Alabama Driver License with satisfactory driving record required Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills High energy personality with a hands-on, lead-by-example leadership style General computer skills Competent written and oral communication Maintain clear and accurate records Understand and follow oral and written directions Work regular shifts to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as assigned. May be subject to call back, on call and/or emergency shifts Must possess general manual dexterity to operate computer, equipment, tools, controls, or other objects; reach with hands or arms Must possess mental acuity for attention to accuracy and detail Must see in the normal visual range with or without correction Must hear in the normal audio range with or without correction Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times Ability to read assembly drawings Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Active Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making Royal offers a competitive pay package that includes an hourly wage paid weekly and a production bonus paid monthly totaling $21.00 per hour. $19.00 per hour is paid weekly. The production bonus is paid monthly and pays a year-to-date average of $2.00 per hour.
