Fish Guys by zoOceanarium Group, LLC specializes in setting up and maintaining aquariums in both residences and businesses. The company has clients with aquariums as small as 20 gallons and as large as 350,000 gallons. Our Services include designing and building a custom aquarium in your house or business, maintaining established aquariums and refurbishing existing aquariums. Position Summary
Fish Guys is continuing to expand their team and looking to recruit a talented Aquarist for its business in Tennessee . You will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day husbandry operations at the group Headquarters (HQ) and offsite at customer properties (both residential and commercial). Daily responsibilities include: The care, procurement, maintenance, and wellbeing of all animals; Meeting with new clients; Tank maintenance and education for existing clients; Aqua scaping/tank design; And more! Experience with animal biology and a strong background in fresh and saltwater aquariums desired. Responsibilities & Duties: Undertake daily operations within the Animal Care Department to ensure highest level of safety, courtesy, education, efficiency and operational readiness at all times. Maintain positive representation to professional agencies, institutions and various committees. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in accordance with local municipality, state and federal rules and regulations. Supervise animal care and ensure habitats meet compliance of facility specific policies and procedures. Monitor and identify animal health concerns, disease diagnosis and water quality concerns. Work closely and effectively with other departments. Assist in dispensing diets, supplies, and completing site visit reports. Manage and maintain the inventory in order to reduce loss, waste and control costs. Proactively assist in the implementation of new exhibits and educational opportunities to maximize revenues and customer satisfaction. Driving supplies and running routes to customers. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: One year + experience with aquarium animal husbandry required. Two year + experience with customer service required. Degree in wildlife/marine biology preferred but not required. Strong background in fresh and saltwater aquariums, reef and coral desired. Experience in the care of flora and fauna in a public aquarium setting preferred. Able to pass Motor Vehicle and Background Check with clean driving history and no moving violations or outstanding tickets. Possess a valid TN Class D vehicle license or ability to get one within 90 days of employment. Competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong listening, presentation and decision-making skills. Good organizational skills. The leisure business functions seven days a week. Due to the seasonal nature of the industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property.
