The Insurance Agent Assistant will be responsible for data entry, customer service, completing and reviewing documentation for group insurance enrollments and service requests. Work is carried out in an office setting located in Monroe, MI. The Agent Assistant Role offers employee benefits (after 90 days of service) and vacation time. The position provides administrative support to two insurance agents on a day-to-day basis and the responsibilities and requirements for the position are listed below and will be discussed in further detail should you decide to interview for the position.
Duties and Responsibilities: o Answering phone calls and emails from clients and insurance companies and/or service centers.
o Greeting walk-in clients and processing customer service requests in a timely manner.
o Completing insurance applications, reviewing accuracy, managing customer files and maintaining the organization of the files. Note: This information is personal and confidential.
o Ability to follow directions very closely with minimal supervision and the ability to make decisions on their own.
o Ability to work as a team, as well as independently, while serving as a back-up for other roles in the office if necessary.
o Ability to exercise critical thinking, problem solving and judgement.
Qualifications and Requirements: o High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
o Exceptional administrative skills such as a proficiency in typing, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and communicating effectively are required.
o Experience in a similar position, or within the office environment or health insurance industry may be required or preferred.
o Attention to detail, ability to multitask and organization are required.
o Must maintain strict confidentiality, both in and out of the workplace.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
