Accounting & Hr Specialist

The Accounting & HR Specialist will be a key member of the financial division at Hampton Roads Academy (HRA), responsible for the administration of employee benefit programs, payroll, student billing, general ledger accounting functions, and audit/regulatory compliance.  This position will play a vital role interfacing with the entire HRA community-students, families, and employees, acting as a resource on both financial and human resources functions.  This opportunity comes with the ability for the right candidate to engage in a variety of duties across the entire spectrum of HRA's business and physical operations, in a positive and supportive environment.

Bachelor's degree in business with a concentration in Accounting or Human Resources 2-4 years progressive experience in human resource management and accounting functions Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to employment, wage, and hour laws, benefits administration, HR best practices a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting maintaining accuracy without losing focus Adaptability, emotionally intelligent, problem-solving skills
