Accountant

Job Description:We are seeking a part-time Accountant to join our team at W.R. Berkley in Washington, D.C. This position is at the Associate level and requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities:- Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense reports- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review- Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring- Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed

Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field- CPA certification preferred- 4+ years of experience in accounting- Strong attention to detail and accuracy- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel- Resilient and confident personality traits- Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
