Job Summary:
As the Vice President of Environmental Trenching, you'll be at the forefront of driving profitable revenue growth in this category. Your role will involve spearheading larger, national projects within our total dewatering service offerings. You'll also oversee the operational execution of national trenching projects and larger branch projects, ensuring safety is always our top priority.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales teams to develop a robust business development plan tailored to dewatering.
Identify target markets and new customer bases in alignment with strategic growth objectives.
Lead recruiting, onboarding, and professional development efforts to nurture top talent within the Environmental Trenching team.
Coordinate sales training programs to empower our sales staff and support company objectives.
Monitor customer, market, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights to senior leadership.
Cultivate relationships with key customers and partners to drive strategic opportunities.
Prepare and analyze reports on category P&L results, operations, and sales & marketing activities.
Operations:
Directly oversee operational activities to ensure profitable execution and excellence in project delivery.
Ensure compliance with project specifications and prioritize customer satisfaction.
Manage changes to project scope and ensure proper documentation and processes are followed.
Provide coaching and training on specialty equipment and services to enhance team capabilities.
Ensure timely and accurate billing and adherence to lien and bond processes.
Collaborate with branch management to forecast operational needs and maintain effective communication between sales and logistics.
Administration:
Act as a liaison between the Environmental Trenching team and support service groups.
Uphold safety as a top priority across all departments and locations.
Develop plans, budgets, and forecasts with a focus on dewatering growth.
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including "The Mersino Way".
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
10+ years of experience in sales/operations management within the construction industry.
Proficiency in PC software and applications, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and bidding procedures.
Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
