******** : Upper School Science Teacher, Full time, 10 month, exempt Summary: The Upper School (grades 9-12) seeks candidates for a full-time, permanent position in our Science Department. We seek a dynamic, creative, and multifaceted professional for a full-time Science teacher position. The Science Department prepares students to investigate their world by developing scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based science immersion. Science Teachers will support the Science Department mission while teaching beginner through advanced level courses in the sciences for grades 9-12.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in science or science education. Candidates are preferred to have three years of teaching experience at the high school level, but a teacher with less than three years experience and an exemplary first teaching experience should also consider applying. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with Upper School students in a supportive college-preparatory environment. Experience in teaching courses in Biology and related subjects delivering high quality, student-engaging instruction. Experience teaching AP courses is preferred but not required. Candidates should possess basic computer literacy and experience using Google Suite for both administrative and instructional purposes, strong interpersonal, and written communication skills. Please note that the School has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, which requires that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, including documentation of a booster shot given five months or more since you completed the final dose in the primary series.
Physical Requirements: The ability to navigate stairs as part of daily routines; mobility around a large campus with uneven pavement; bending and squatting as required to participate in activities; sitting and standing for long periods of time during the school day; lifting/carrying boxes up to 25 pounds; and the ability to maneuver as necessary within a regular classroom and office setting.
