** Underwriting Account Service Manager (I or II)**

Zurich North America is hiring an experienced Underwriting Account Service Manager I or II to join our Property Wholesale team! This position will be located in Atlanta (preferred), but we will also consider New York. and Philadelphia. As a member of Zurich's Underwriting team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your leadership and strategic thinking skills. There will be some travel for this position to offices where the Underwriting Account Associates sit (Atlanta, New York and Philadelphia).
This role will be filled at either the Level I or Level II. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicants experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Responsibilities of this role include:

Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.
*
Assess and evaluate underwriting processes in order to implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, maintaining underwriting disciplines and identifying opportunities for improvements.
*
Follows up regularly with producers as needed to discuss status of new business, upcoming renewals, and renewals in process, and to develop appropriate action.
*
Performs customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies, and answering policy coverage related questions.
*
Participates in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters.
*
Conducts regular performance evaluations, ensures staff are meeting performance standards based on key operational performance metrics, staffing models and growth goals of the business units supported. Regularly conducts career development conversations with staff and creates robust development plans.

Makes staffing decisions concerning hiring and guides staff development through identifying skills and training needs, delegating tasks appropriately, and motivating staff to provide outstanding client service.

Build insurance operations and underwriting skills and knowledge by participating in cross-training and learning additional processes and procedures to support multiple workflows and contribute to effectiveness of team operations.

Builds strong relationships across the business. Takes leadership role in Underwriting team huddles and meetings

Acts as subject matter expert for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance.
The Underwriting Account Service Manager will be expected to lead, motivate and develop Underwriting Account Servicing team members to deliver superior broker/customer experiences. The ability to prioritize, manage process and workflow and ensure expedited actions are taken where appropriate will be important to success in this role. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of 5-7 direct reports.
Underwriting Account Service Manager II Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR
*
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR
*
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
AND
*
Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Underwriting Account Service Manager I Basic Qualifications:
*
Bachelor's degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR
*
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years' experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
OR
*
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
AND
*
Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Insurance certifications
*
People management experience
*
Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment
*
Knowledge of operational budgets
*
Knowledge of international insurance programs
