They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:On-the-job experience and vocational trainingMust adhere to the OceanaGold Code of ConductWork may be conducted in outdoor settings including active mine areas and may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.Employees are regularly required to stand, sit, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, possess manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear, and see while performing their duties.Employee may be required to operate common vehicles and small 4x4 roving vehicles in off-road and adverse weather conditions.Appropriate personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor setting, manufacturing or plant environment and may include a hard hat, single or double hearing protection, safety glasses, hard-toed footwear, respirator, protective clothing, gloves, and/or other protective equipment.HGM promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment including both mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.Familiarization with NFPA 70E and the NECAbility to work outside in all weather conditionsAdditional InformationExcellent problem solving skills with complex problems, including both definition of the problem and generation and evaluation of solutions.Excellent planning and organisational skills, including goal setting, group performance monitoring and the ability to modify priorities where necessary to achieve these goals.The ability to make a decision from a range of competing options where the outcomes are not entirely predictable.Effective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convince others to co-operate and contribute.Additional InformationKey Competencies:Quality Communication: Communicates regularly, both written and oral, in a wide range of forums to both operations and maintenance personnelProject Management: Coaches/supports others to manage improvement projects - required to track project progress and reportTime Management: Able to pace own work. Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
