We are currently seeking a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer for our expanding Transmission & Distribution practice in the listed regions. The ideal candidate will:
Manage all engineering aspects of overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, route planning, structural analysis, design criteria development, sag-tension calculations, and more. Develop specifications for construction materials and hardware, oversee structure and hardware design, and provide on-site installation supervision. Produce construction drawings and cost estimates for high voltage overhead transmission lines. Contribute to project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to financial parameters. Mentor and support junior team members, offering guidance and instruction as needed. Potentially evolve into a leadership role, leading engineering teams and serving as a key liaison between our firm and clients. Previous experience as a technical lead on projects and conducting quality reviews is advantageous. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited program required. Professional certification, EIT, and/or professional engineer licensure preferred. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in routing and designing high voltage overhead transmission line facilities. Completion of a master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience in 69kV to 500kV line design and proficiency in Power Line system-based programs (e.g., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.) is desirable.
